Should be. I have three No. 5 Ilex Universal shutters, one from the late 1940's, one from the late 1950's and one from the mid-1970's. The first two have both M and X synch. The mid-1970's has X only. (They were still available then with both M and X). Only thing is these all have that bi-post connection for the flash cable. Cables to fit this may or may not be easy to find. I've never used flash with any of these.

There is a company called Paramount that makes cables that adapt the two sync posts on Ilex shutters to PC flash connections: https://paramountcords.com/ Give them a try and see if they still make those cables.
Good luck, Paul

I believe Paramount has already closed.
Old-style Norelco electric razor cords can be adapted to work with the bi-post sync terminals if you are handy and want to save some money.
