Take a look at this Ilex shutter - there's a dot with each shutter speed to align the rim set mark with... but the 1/100th speed has an additional dot on each side. Anyone know what those dots are for?? No luck searching the web for a manual...

But seriously, I have seen one other Universal marked like this on ebay (maybe this very shutter). I would guess something custom, maybe for high speed calibration or additional speed increments.
You might email Carol at Flutot's shutter repair.

Do the extra dots have detents?

Nope, none of the speeds have detents, it's "align and fire". Oddly, now that I've mounted it on a board, the speed selection is really, really stuff, will have so suss that out.

What type board, wood or metal? Did you use a flange on front of the board or retaining ring on back?

It may need a spacer between the board and the back of the shutter to prevent the aperture lever from binding on the board.
