Ikon Nettar shutters

Hi,
I've started to collect Ikon nettars. I've got an absolutely beautiful mint 515/2 from 1939 in the original box with the sales receipt and a Nettar Anastigmat f6.3 10.5 lens with a Telma shutter with speeds T B, 25, 50, 100 and 125. The shutter speeds have no stops though, so it feels continuous moving between speeds. While another 512/2 with the same lens from J. Lizars of Glasgow has a Derval shutter with T B 25, 50 and 100 and very clear click 'stops' at each speed. Does the presence of click stops for shutter speeds depend on the shutter? Do some have it and some not?

I have a Derval shutter but never had or tried a Telma. These shutters are rather primitive, but I would think there should be more or less distinct clickstops aslo on the Telma.
I'm inside an old dial set Compur at the moment. And even though the speed cam don't have separate steps for all speeds, the dial has click stops.

Thanks for that! It's very satisfying getting these old cameras back up and working again. That Derval is still fine, not sticky and all speeds are about right. Not bad for a camera from the late 1930s. There is no cover for the red film number window (never was) so I hope it will be OK with Ilford FP4 and no fog it. The next job is a very sticky Compur on a No. 7 Ensign Carbine with a f4.5 4 inch Aldis Uno Anastigmat. The whole camera is in a bit of a state, but the bellows are still light-tight at least.

The Prontor-S on my 515/16 does not have discrete shutter speed stops.

You mean it's continuously variable across the speeds?

I've never set it at an in-between position. I can try that this evening and let you know if I get what appears to be an in-between speed. I have no shutter tester, so maybe I'll have to use my ancient NTSC-scan television to assess the speeds.

Ok... the shutter will operate at in-between settings and from repeated observations I believe it yields an intermediate speed, but I have no method of truly testing it.

The Velio shutter on my Nettar has no discrete settings either. I've never considered intermediate speeds.

intermediate speeds being set between click stops is common. If I recall, there were rangefinders with this ability.
