Alas I believe that I have come down with GAS! I just purchased another IKOFLEX but do not know which model it is.The lens is a NOVAR T so no serial number. The body serial number is 535870.
I have two IKOFLEX 1 cameras.Viewing lenses and taking lenses are the same 75 mm and f 1:3.5. One is an OPTON TESSAR T the other an ANASTIGMAT NOVAR T. Is it possible to interchange the viewing and taking lenses.
The Novar was ZeissIkon’s budget lens. Although I am somewhat of a Zeiss nut, be aware that the camera was not known for rugged construction. But as a collectible, you have a very nice example. Having never used one myself (have Rolleiflex with Zeiss lenses), it would be interesting to hear your experiences using Ikoflex. So have fun!
GU,I have heard the opposite, that they are very well engineered and robust. I have three and I can assure you that IKOFLEX cameras if anything are over engineered and of fine quality.
I agree re the build quality of Ikoflices.
I've had most of them including the III with the big albada finder and all have been of robust construction.
