I get 8 days in Cuba. I've never been there before.

Should I take my M4-P w/ 35 and 50

or My F3hp. with 24mm and 50mm.

I agree with tomalphicon both. For close up works and close details you might need the F3 for simple Street shots the M.

Take the Leica, pretend it's an M3 and you're Hemingway--you know, drinking, deep-sea fishing, boxing...yea, and photography, too. Papa would be proud.

I'd take the Nikon kit...and carry the Leica with the 35mm (leave the 50mm at home) as backup.

F3 w/50, Leica with 35.

Small light and you have your bases covered.

Enjoy the trip, it's a fascinating country with some truly wonderful people.

which ever one you are more comfortable with. You don’t want to have to think about the camera at all.

I'm rethinking this.

I have a M2 as well as my M4-P, 35, 50, 90 and a 15mm Heliar (for inside buildings and landscapes.)

Whaddaya think?

inside buildings, fast glass. these buildings are old, falling apart with very tall ceilings and not much light once you get inside.

Stop thinking.

You really only need one or the others imo, stick to b/w or colour and enjoy the trip. Too much gear takes away from the experience.

Are you asking us about what we'd bring, or what you should bring with the gear you have?

Because i'd bring my F6 and possibly my F as a backup.

I guess I'm looking for dialog.
I'm kinda tossed between my Leica M Kit and my Nikon kit. Light weight vs versatility.

Next comes the question of what lenses to bring hahaha:tongue:

I misread the title as "If you had one week to live, what camera would you be using?" hahahaahh

Keep it simple.

Less really is more.

Opt for the M system myself, 2 bodies to have a backup. Easy peasy.

If you have insurance on your cameras, check with your insurance company to see if they are covered for trips to Cuba.

If there are coverage problems in Cuba, I would take a camera I could afford to replace.

From everything I hear, Cuba is a great place to visit and doesn't have unreasonable amounts of crime, but if you need to get something official or bureaucratic done that involves Cuba, it can be "challenging".

F3 isn't that much heavier than an M. My standard kit is an F3+20 or 28 and M4+35/2'cron. Take either or both but go wide and get close.
