I've found this film is a desk when cleaning out my Grandfathers things. There is film in there, but can anyone identify what it might be? The spool ends say Ansco, but of course that doesn't mean the film is Ansco. The backing paper has a brown/purple tint to it, so I'm presuming its not Kodak.

Unfortunately, the sealing band was missing.

Any ideas what a developing time might be?

It looks like what I remember Ansco film looked like, but that was a very long time ago. Since it is 616, it is probably the Ansco black and white consumer film (Plenichrome??). My guess is early to mid 50s for the date, although it could have been up to about 1960.
