I want A Hasselblad. Talk Me Out Of It!

I can feel the seller's relief all the way here in Tsawwassen .
Did you pay him in model cars?

I'm eyeing other lenses...lenses that were mentioned long ago, in this very thread... and that flex body looks like something that I could use...
@MattKing he showed me many pictures of his model cars. Very, very cool!
I'm off to bed. I'm exhausted.
Tomorrow the fun begins!
I hope my RB doesn't find out!

If you're RB is feeling unloved, I'd be pleased to provide foster care.

Just famliarising myself with it today. I switched out the prism finder and stuck in the waste level finder. Slapped on the Polaroid holder, which still had a couple of sheet in it. Shot them, but as expected, the pods have dried out.
I'll have to practice film loading. It's quite different to my RB...

Yes, loading film holders takes a bit of getting used to. I don't know exactly what style backs came with your 500CM Andy, but if they are all the same style you won't have a problem. I actually like the older "12" backs with the peep window to the newer A12 backs, but that's just me. When I shot weddings I only used A12 backs, but now, for my leisure shooting I like the peep-window backs. Also, if a partial roll of film has sat for a long time in one of my backs I never use the upcoming exposure on anything important. The film will have a "memory bend" formed into it on the first shot from non-use. That's just one design flaw with the backs themselves.
Oh, I'm not worried about your RB feeling neglected, but I do worry about your wife feeling neglected now that you have a new toy. Maybe you should share your toy with her?

You may find "The Hasselblad Manual: by Wildi helpful.

As I recall, there are several editions so you want to try to find a newer one.

All three backs are A12.
My wife is not interested in my toys, but is happy that I am happy...

I guess as a group we are a collective failure; we didn't talk you out of it per your request.

As I was also wanting to support the seller, I was conflicted.
In comparison to your big cameras, it is tiny.
You may have to start a second YouTube channel - I doubt the handle "andyittybitty" is taken!

I was able to find a pdf of the 7th (2018) edition online.

I have the 1989 3rd edition and still reference it from time to time. This is a very thorough Hasselblad book that gives you everything you need to know about the cameras and all the goodies that were made for them. It is a "must have" for sure.

Or don't steal IP

Exactly. I asked preplexity.ai what it knew about the site's content. Here is what it said:

Downloads from modusdever.com are likely illegal. The hosted PDFs, such as Langford's Starting Photography (5th ed., 2007), The Hasselblad Manual (7th ed., 2018), and Ansel Adams' The Print, contain explicit copyright notices from publishers like Elsevier/Focal Press, prohibiting reproduction or distribution without permission.

Copyright Evidence

These books assert "All rights reserved" and require prior written consent for any sharing, including electronic means; the site offers them freely without such authorization. Wolfgang Tillmans exhibition catalogs also note rights managed by galleries and licensing agencies, not released for public download.

In my view, a better way to get this book is find a used copy on Amazon or Alibris.

I think, at this point you would need a non descript white Chevy van with a sliding metal door. Whisk Analogue Andy off to a de-programming camp for 6 months of training. Maybe somewhere in Iowa.

No , no not Iowa; perhaps Vancouver Island or Northern British Columbia where the air is not so contaminated?
The abduction vehicle should be a Chrysler mini van produced in Canada .
After all , Andrew is a Canuck.
