Avogadro was Cuban?
Thanks! Just glad I could add another perspective. Have a great time in Cuba!
He was a mole
I truly love the fact that you can look up an accessory by number. I just got a 42459 viewfinder magnifier that will help these aging eyes find that perfect focus. It is such a cool system!
Yup. The price had always kept me away.

I know I've posted this before, but B&H has their Sourcebook from 1998 on their archives site available for access... it's a great resource for Hasselblad (and other brands) that were available at that time...
When you go in there, marvel at the prices for the Hasselblad gear, especially the lenses... and remember, those are 1998 dollars... There's a reason I never bought one of these back then.

I have one, but I don't think it is the Fotodiox version... there's others who make this.
Anyway, I wouldn't get one if it were just for the lenses as a coin would suffice (but in fact these days, there's a good chance I wouldn't have any coins on me). However, if the body jams, you need to get into the cocking mechanism from the back side under the mirror and up to the front of the body and a coin won't work in this situation, The other end of the tool is designed for that.
I've not needed to use it for that purpose so far, but I have it just in case. It does work well for the lens cocking, too. I find very rarely, a lens gets jostled and the shutter must trip, so I (very rarely) occasionally need to re-cock the shutter on a lens. It's good to have the too for that and also to be aware that this occurs so if you find trouble when switching lenses, to be aware and check this before any attempts to use muscle on anything.

I have one too. IMHO, they are worth it, as not only are they very useful, but the ring/collar around the outside key slot in each end of the tool helps prevent the tool from slipping off the key while re-cocking the lens or body.
I used a coin, once or twice on a lens, but after having a slip with a lens I ordered the tool and have been happy with it. That, plus, the one time that I had to recycle/re-cock my 501CM's body way way down in there I was very happy to have the right tool rather than using a screwdriver.
My name is butterfingers O'Neill for a reason. If I get the camera, I'll invest in one. There seem to be plenty online...
........and most likely not worth it. I have an older 120mm macro that I bought from KEH that was listed very cheap due to fungus etched coatings and it still does a very good job. Plus, it cost me very little money. Unless your 350mm tele is the very latest FE version I don't think it would be worth trying to clear the fungus. Once the fungus has etched the coating it can't just be wiped off. You would have to polish and have the glass recoated, which would be expensive as H. Plus, your lens would be tied up for months if not more.
Well now I'm gonna have to buy one (I was unaware that they existed) because I want to be one of the cool kids too.
Thanks a lot ...
I'm a cool kid and I don't have one. Perhaps we can split the cost and share one???
