I like the square format. In fact, I crop most of my shots square, even when shot 2:3 or 3:4. As a matter of fact, a wile back I wrote an essay about it for a book that I was working on. The exception is when I crop 6:17 for panoramas.Andrew, do you really want to tie your photography to a square format, when a 3 : 2 ratio gives a much more open scope for compositional framing. Does that help.
As a general rule, fungus isn't repairable unless the elements are ground and recoated. For all but the most exceptional lenses it isn't financially viable.I've got a 350mm Hasselblad TeleTessar with some fungus on internal lens elements - do you think KEH be able to handle that?

........and most likely not worth it. I have an older 120mm macro that I bought from KEH that was listed very cheap due to fungus etched coatings and it still does a very good job. Plus, it cost me very little money. Unless your 350mm tele is the very latest FE version I don't think it would be worth trying to clear the fungus. Once the fungus has etched the coating it can't just be wiped off. You would have to polish and have the glass recoated, which would be expensive as H. Plus, your lens would be tied up for months if not more.Call KEH.com at 800 342 5534 and ask an estimate what it will cost. They have to remove all the optics, clean each lens, reassemble and re-collimate the lens. That could be expensive.
Going to Cuba without the Hasselblad? We've negotiated a price. I'm off to Cuba next week. We'll get together after Christmas to close the deal.
So far, all of you have done a TERRIBLE job talking me OUT of this!
Yup. Or the RB. Or any camera, for that matter. This is a full on relaxing with the wife time. She's always put me first, so I'm putting her first for a change...Going to Cuba without the Hasselblad?

Good for you and your lucky wife. Nothing like relaxing in a deck chair with a good Cuban cigar and a donut. Hm, I wonder if they have Tim Horton's there? Have fun and I hope the weather is in your favor. Burn some film while you are there.Yup. Or the RB. Or any camera, for that matter. This is a full on relaxing with the wife time. Well, you can't have everything I guess. You'll just have to settle for relaxing in that deck chair with the Cuban cigar and a Rum&Coke! Have fun!Googled it but no Timmy's in Cuba... but...There are plans to open a Tim Hortons in Wellsville, New York, which is near the town of Cuba.
