B&H has some weird shipping regs, though. Our school buys all our Sprint from B&H in order to get the free shipping, but have to order our developers direct from Sprint.

That DOES sound weird.

The plane crash in the everglades in 1996 changed a LOT at Sprint.

Shipping regs were tightened up. We had to get everything analyzed and generate very specific Material Safety Data sheets, apply for shipping classifications.

I can't recall if any of the products were labelled as HAZARDOUS. Ah, I see in my notes that the developers are classified as CORROSIVE (at the lowest level) and so they are listed as HAZARDOUS...maybe that's why B&H asks customers to go through Sprint directly? I worked at Sprint for about 7 years, after Paul Krot died.

There's a lot of weird ideas on this site about the formulations. Sprint chemistry is as good as any other and can do about anything anybody would want it to do.

It was conceived of and formulated by a teacher, to facilitate teaching. It is intended to be simple to use but the line has the best ingredients and sophisticated formulae.
The print developer does give a cool tone that some printers dislike but the film developer is very versatile...it's certainly as good as D-76...that's saying a lot.

I used to mix the batches of chemistry and test films to update the development chart Sprint published at the time I worked there. Maybe the formulae have changed? I don't know.

i have been using it on / off since 1981 and have tried to correct some
of the wrong perceptions, what the developers are, and are not,
who paul k was and was not ...
some of the weird commentary was posted by someone who heard from
a teacher ? and a flyer? the stuff that was wrong, and never bothered
to look at the website and read who paul k. was, and had some weird comceptions
about the print developer... like it wouldn't print black?

h0pefully its kind of sad ( the nonsense )
and things based on truth rather than fiction are always better
you know, made up stuff or things that someone heard from someone else who
heard it from someone else &c &C... who might have seen on a flyer
something about what they thought was about sprint ...

Unless one of the formulations has changed or a product added or deleted from Sprint's lines why is it necessary to update this thread?

Big fan of Sprint here. I use the fixer on every film and print, and always have print developer, some film developer, end run and brightener in the darkroom. I learned photo chemistry from Paul in 1982, he really got me into the chemistry side of photography.
