not sure were to post this so i will try here first. it is darkroom equip.

woo hoo
i won at a gov auction(https://web.govliquidation.com) a beleler 45 w/ cold light head and adjustable stand for $ 58.00, just one problem , i am in Alaska and it is in Columbus Ohio. i need a kind soul in Ohio, or near, to pick it up for me and hold it until i can find someone who is driving up and can bring it to me. ( craigslist)
also included in the lot is a ES ECO COMPUMASTER MDL M4940 PHOTO LAB W/ STAND AND CAMERA ADJUSTABLE SETTING. i do not know what this is or if i can use it. maybe you can. it is paid for , it is at a military base in Columbus and in order for someone to pick it up the following is required.
current State Driver's License and/or I.D. For all occupants, Vehicle Registration and proof of Insurance. it not a big deal i have done it for thing at my local air force base. i will have to let them know that you are the one to pick it up so you can be put on the check in roster. i live on a starving artist budget so i can not afford the hundreds of dollars to use a shipping/freight co. there must be a sympathetic soul out there, i can pay small fee to cover time and gas. or if you come to alaska i can help you in any way you might need. of course you will need space to put for a while. if i can not find a ride for it in a timely manor i could possible talk my brother in Syracuse NY to drive out and get it.

Possibly, seventeen years in law enforcement has made me a bit too skeptical.

This really, really sounds like a scam for some poor, helpful soul's private information. Of course the world could be trying to take a spin toward being a better place. Just be careful my friends.

not a scam

wow i did not even think about it being perceived as a scam. a sad comentary on the state of the world we live in.
i am a payed member of apug, i have posted before. i am not asking for any money or check cashing from anyone, in fact i am trusting the person who does pick it up to be honest. nothing is required of the good Samaritan except time and space , i can pay for gas with a cashiers check or pay pal . what can i do to prove that i am not out to scam anyone? i could meet another Alaskan member from apug and they can say yes he is in Alaska and yes he has a darkroom.
you could pm me and i will send my ak area code cell # suggestions? ivan.

i can assure you that you will not be conscripted into the military when you go to the base. ( we haven't reached that point, YET )

fyi, the military is dumping all its analog photo equip plus older digi stuff at bases all over the country. i got two old canon f1's for 250.00. ( i may sell one) keep poking around the site and you will find goodies. 35 mm, medium format and large format cameras. ivan.

Amazing site, I found a Graflex X1 system with Planar lens and no bids ending tomorrow.

Good job I'm the wrong side of the Atlantic, or I'd be posting asking for help too.

BTW I felt your post was a very genuine. Last year I helped a Canadian photographer (on APUG) buy equipment in the UK, in his case it was minimum shipping values and high postage. In my case I had to take a risk buying and not being paid, and went by my gut instincts and was right. In your case you aren't asking anyone to risk loosing money.

Good luck and lets see some prints when you get the enlarger.

Don't worry about it; some people have no trust or a generous nature.

I worked on a secure military base for the last 13 years as a supervisor, so I know how that works; no worries.

As for the gas, well if you can afford it, fine, if not, send me a print some time.

As you say, it is NOT YOU who would be scammed, I could take the stuff and run... but I won't.

Bad Karma would ruin a dude...

Be happy to pick it up and store it for you for a reasonable period of time.

Let's work it out off line.
