Since black cams are the choice of professionals, and the Bessa is black, this makes it a professional cam; but because of the low price, professionals such as doctors, dentists and lawyers won't touch it. This may or may not be a good thing. I don't know. What I do know is that the lower upper-crust prefer Leica, even though the Bessa looks exactly like them for Coke bottle eyes up close and Mr. Rubberneck from afar. Heck, just the other day I was at Walmart and some youngin said, "That's a camera I want! Are you a professional?" Like Leica, black is not the only colour. There's the gray one. Gray by the way is a substitute colour for silver or chrome, and it does have an uncanny resemblance with silver under the sun. The gray version is the same as the black, but because it's not black, it can't be called professional. So if you own a gray one, think of it as "pro-ish." Bessa is best.
