I got grainy digital negative......

i am currently working on Pt/Pd printing. i use inkpress and pictorico film and epson 4880 in photo black. the tonality is excellent after i calibrated the curve. But the image is kinda grainy. Because i also print directly from large format in-camera film, the result i got from the digital negative is far worse than what i got from a large format film. Dose anyone has problem with grain that from negative?

Ps, i use Na2 as contrast agent, so it is because of the negative. Also, i can see grain on negative.

Are you only using photo black ink? If so, using all inks improves tonality and density.

Your paper choice may influence this too. Generally pt/pd hides any printer artefacts in paper fibres and diffusion. There is a plethora of methods and information on DPUG.

A digital negative is just a digital image. It sounds like you have too few pixels in that image.

I am sorry i go to wrong place.
I use all inks in the printer. I said PhotoBlack is because there is also a matte Black u can set in Epson printer
