Dear all,

I found Fortepan 100 and compared it to BRF 100. Indeed lots of people said it was the same. The result of my test suggere the contrary.
I only found fortepan 100 in 35mm, whereas BRF 100 is available in 120 only.
Test procedure: I shot a color chart with the same parameters (flash lighting) taking care that the chart represents the same surface on the film, to compare grain size.
I develop in D76 1+1 24°C for 7'30" the fortepan 100, for 5'45" (time I use to develop this film).
Results are: films are very different. Grain is much more apparent on fortepan 100 than on BRF 100. And response to different colors is different (in red tones, particularly).

Tell me what do you think about it.

Did Forte actually make an ISO 100 film? I suspect it is another film repackaged by Forte, and that you are actually comparing two different films.

The Bergger film that is usually said to be identical to Forte is Bergger 200/Fortepan 200 (which has also been ClassicPan 200, J&C Classic 200, old Arista.EDU 200, and I think Europan 200). Sandy King has tested these films and presented his results on the Azo forum at www.michaelandpaula.com.

Forte DID a 100 iso film, called Fortepan 100 in 135, and 120.
Bergger sells a 100 iso film too. And I was afraid it was the same. Clearly it is not. That's a good thing.
