So, I started out in life (ok, in college) as a chemist. Not intending to pursue chemistry, (I wanted to be a doctor, and I am one; 30 years+ of doctoring. Wouldn't change a thing), wasn't even planning to study chemistry (hated it in HS). But! A professor changed my mind (thanks, Bob DeWald!) and I studied chemistry.

Decades pass. I turn out to be pretty good at the doctoring, and subsequently pretty good at population health, so now I work for a health insurer. But I remember being a chemist. And then we move to a house where there's a space for a possible darkroom. I also remember taking one (1) photography class in the summer leading up to 6th grade, and it was kinda fun developing the pictures - and now I understand the chemistry involved. Also, I see an ad on CL for a Pentax 645 for cheap money. I buy it, a few rolls of film, and hey presto! I'm hooked; I develop and print my own pictures! Yay!

Except...they suck. So, guess I should learn about composition, and art, and the Zone system, and ghu knows what all....

Still learning. But having a ton of fun. So...hi! Mostly shoot film, and mostly BW, because the chemistry is simpler . But not averse to color; I can develop C-41 if pressed, although I have yet to try to print any; I scan and send, or send and have the lab scan and print. BW I tend to print myself. (And since there are precious few BW photos in the computer, you'll just have to wait...)

Oh - I bought a few cameras in the meantime. (Sold the Pentax). The pictured photo was taken with a Bronica SQ-A; can't remember the film, but it was cross-processed from E-6 because I didn't have any E-6 chemistry (yeah, I know...). Still, I thought it was nice enough to print and put on my wall. Regardless, I now have: The Bronica noted above, a Rolleiflex 3.8, a Yashica-Mat EM, a Topcon RE-2 with a 50mm and a 28-100 (I think) tele, and a Koni-Omega 200. (I have a Graflex Speed Graphic and a Graflex 4x5 view camera whose identity I'm not sure of, but I use them rarely. I should take them out more often). I have at least 2 other 35mm cameras whose names I can't recall; both sort of fell into my lap at thrift shops.

Sounds like you might have a severe case of GAS Doc, better late than never 😉.
