I broke the dark slide for my Polaroid back

I don't really know the right name for the back. It says Polaroid on it but that's it. It works fine with Fuji FP100C, which is what's currently in it. I still have about 5 packs of the stuff and was hoping to use it up. And then I broke the dark slide. Nothing else that I have seems to be close enough in size to work. Any ideas for an adapt and modify job? Or what the name of it might be so I can google away and find one? I'll probably try to tape it together, but I don't have high hopes. It broke sorta near where it comes out of the holder. TIA

Likely true! I just need to know the key word to find one (I don't know what it is because I got it for free - no box or info). My first quick look didn't get anything that looked like mine.
Ok, I finally figured out - I think it's a 405. And the prices for them that I saw in search #1 ranged from $50 USD to $190 USD. Way out of my range to just get a working dark slide.

Pretty much. Slightly different color on the handle end. And in 2 pieces.

It's 3 7/16ths inches wide and 6 1/2 inches long including the blue pull handle.

If you have some Pledge (or similar) spray furniture polish, you can rub it onto the slide before you start using it. That polish will significantly reduce the amount of friction as the slide is inserted and removed. Just use a very small amount and let it dry completely.

Years ago this happened to me too, so I cut a 'new' one out of a pice of thin aluminium plate and softened the edges with fine sanding paper and folded a curl at one end to be the handle...

I made myself a left-hand grip for my Century Graphic, which was great except that, not once but twice, after taking a photo, I put the camera into my bag, grip upwards, that is darkslide-handle downwards, and snapped two handles off in a couple of days. I made replacements out of a scrap of aluminium, and they work but they're ever so slightly thin, and pull more easily than I like. I think painting them would be enough to correct it; or self-adhesive plastic.

It's not so important for 4x5 slides but I wouldn't want to have 8x10 holders without polishing those slides.
