I am looking for a fully programmable timer! Know one?

Looking for a timer which allows programming of multiple times. Eg of a typical timing routine that a timer should be capable of,

1min, 5min with 30s intervals, 30s, 30s, 1min, 9min with 30s intervals.

Ideally it should have capability to use both voice recorded messages and several different sound alarms for each timer.

It should also give out no light or have the option of turning off it's light..

It would also be great if it could be started and stopped remotely.


Does anyone know of any timer that could fullfil the above duties at least in part?

I use a PC program Wlab/Dlab which is free, it can interface with some equipment.

I have an old early 80's model, called Process Time Controller, by Vivitar. It has 3 programs, 6 steps max per program, porgrams can be linked. Displays in dimmable red LED digits the program, step, and time in the step. Can have an outlet on while program is running, and switch off at end of each step.

Warning tone before end of step to allow you to drain. Different tone at end of step time. Time to drain is programmable.

Auto transition, or manual actuation seelctable to move between steps. If manual, timer displays time elapsed since stop was reached.

It does not flag agitate intervals for during development. I have a separate interval timer built around a 555 chip that I have set to chip every 30 seconds, regardless of what step I am in.

It does not yet have a foot switch, but the urge to home brew such an interface is with me.

All the best at finding one if you want one; mine I rebuilt after the power supply voltage regulation zener diode burned up. This is a common fault of all Vivitar d/r p/s's of that era.
I have put 3 terminal voltage regulator IC's into about four of them so far and sold them as working again on the 'bay.

Isn't the dev chart glowing in the dark? If so will it fog the film up?

Although not a perfect fit, you might want to consider the process timer capability of ADDA (Analogue Darkroom Digital Assistant) from Darkroom Avatar (www.darkroomavatar.com).

It allows you to program up to 14 steps with each step up to 99m99s with the option to turn off the display during countdown until the end of the "Fix" step. It comes with a footswitch to start/pause your countdown.
