I cant get the counter to start on 1 when the number 1 shows up in the red window. Do you have a good procedure for this? As it is now I only get 7 shots because I cant get it started on time.
You wind it until you see the number one in the red window, THEN turn the dial on the film counter so that one shows there.
THEN Wind it a titch more, should cock the shutter and stop. If you are unsure, cock it manually and fire away. After that, it should stop at 2, 3 and so on.

so load film, close door, wind and fire wind and fire wind and fire until number 1 comes up in the red window but it is inbetween the automatic stops no matter what I do with the counter dial. The actual stops do not match the red window.
According to the instruction book, when the counter is on 0, the camera is supposed to be able to advanced without stops. Then when 1 comes up in the window it says to set the counter to just before1 and then advance a tick more and it clicks into place and both the red window and counter agree.
But on my Medalist, setting it on 0 is treated like any other number and it just advances to the next number and stops. Then it must be fired to release it and so forth.
Do any of you Medalist guys confirm that on 0 the film can be advanced without stops?
