Hybrid - Scanning with modified Nikon CoolScan9000 - What tape?

Should be quite a simple answer this...

I'm modding my Nikon scanner tray (FH-869S) as per this article - https://petapixel.com/2013/04/12/how-to-avoid-ugly-newton-rings-when-doing-nikon-glass-scanning/

I'm planning on scanning with a single sheet of AN glass and mounting my negs face down so that the glass is furthest away from the sensor. My question is...

What's the best type of tape to use to secure my negs? I guess something with a low adhesive so it doesn't leave a residue but are there any industry standard options that are the obvious choice of the pros?

i dont use tape. i just lay the end of the film on the very small lip/edge of the holder and then the glass keeps it in place. have been doing it that way for years. some times there are a few stubborn rolls of film that have curl going down and the glass cant hold them flat, in those three cases i used tape but dont remember what i used, sorry

One of the good sources for adhesive tapes is 3M, they have been making specialized tapes for decades. The 3M satin surface clear tape sold as "Magic Tape" has a medium-tack adhesive that seems not to leave a residue on film, at least when used for short term tasks. The quality needed is "low-tack" and a search for low tack graphic arts tapes will probably throw up some choices.

^ Magic tape or scotch tape as we call it is archival /photo-safe however is no good for you application as it breaks too easily. You will find yourself scratching or peeling off small broken bits of tape. You need low tack and flexible so you can pull the whole thing off in once piece.
If you are looking for a standard - Tesa 4104. I use for dry mounting negatives on drum scanner, same stuff sold by aztek and the like, used in industry for decades.
