Was browsing Ebay looking at some ads for one of my favorite slrs, the Pentax KX, when I saw this:

I wonder if brushing off the dust is extra?

Mine has no fungus and tested work perfectly too but it only has an f/1.4 lens so how much less should I expect for it?

There used to a seller on Ebay who posted an ad for an Agfa Karat for $999 or best offer. I offered $40 but never got a response.

Its the rarest of all the existing box cameras. Seems that it comes with an exotic glass, covered with an alien skin and body made with an alloy brought to earth through a meteorite.

Yes, and some seem to be of retailer status or at least big commercial sellers who had taken leave of their senses. It has to be a couple of years ago now but I noted that at least one big U.S. seller was advertising paper, Ilford, if I recall correctly from the U.S. on the U.K. e-bay.

Not only was the price nowhere near as competitive as U.K. retailers but the shipping charge was very large so in effect the same paper would be delivered to your door in the U.K. from the U.S. for about twice the price as that from the U.K.

It was so crazy I was sure it was a mistake and I actually wrote to point out the mistake. Well it was no mistake. That was the correct price.

I can only think that the seller still thought that we in the U.K. still had leaded petrol(gasoline) and were still suffering from low IQ as a consequence.

I don't mind people asking for too much but when it said make an offer and I made a low offer they insult me.

I was thinking this morning that maybe they meant $115. The KX is a great camera. I have a black one that I use a lot and a chrome beater that I got for about $10. I'm hoping that Eric Hendrickson can resuscitate it.

The best ad for photo paper I've seen was the one where the seller opened up the box and spread the paper out for the ad's photo. Someone was nice enough to tell him politely that the enlarging paper wasn't the same as inkjet paper and was now worthless as it had been exposed to light.

Well, that KX with lens finally sold for $100. I guess that's a pretty good price, for these days. I bought my KX several years ago -- don't think I paid more than $40 for it. A couple years ago, I decided to flesh out my line of K cameras and bought a K2 and a KM -- picked up both for cheap, as I dimly recall. Looks like clean, functioning K2s have appreciated a fair amount since I bought mine. KMs are about the same.

I've seen that. It doesn't help that HP, Canon, etc. advertise their photo-quality paper as "Photo Paper'.

Darkroom printing is such a niche activity, I'm surprised when a seller actually recognizes the paper as photographic paper.
