Hey everyone! I spent the last year and half to pt together a Large Format kit, which I have been using non-stop since last September. To do so, I bought a lot of different lenses & cameras, to try focal lengths, different approaches to cameras, and so on.

After trying them all, both at home here in Tuscany and in the field around the world, I finalised my kit on Arca-Swiss (F-Line and M-Two), 47mm, 75mm, 150mm and 300mm; and, as much as I know I will regret selling much of what on offer here (if not everything!) it's time to make room in my gear cabinet.

All gear is in Tuscany, Italy and I will be happy to hand it over to you in person if you are in the area. Prices are net to me, shipping and PayPal / Stripe fees to be added. Everything is in great working order, see below of item-by-item details and check out the photos for cosmetic / glass conditions. For maximum transparency, I added results of shutter testing for all the lenses below, done with dedicated equipment, mentioning even 1/3 stop deviations. If you have any further questions feel free to ask.

So, for sale I have the following, starting with lenses:

- Schneider 38mm Super-Angulon MC XL-120 f/5.6 MC | 1.395 euro
Great lens to use with 120 film on LF cameras, its 139mm image circle covers up to 6x12cm with some movement to spare. In good cosmetic conditions but optically perfectly clean and shutter firing either perfectly or 1/3 stop faster (1 sec, 1/2, 1/8, 1/15 sec). I have been debating whether to keep this over the 35 XL, which has coverage limited to 6x7cm but it's wider, and ended up going for that - my mind is not fully made up yet, so if you want it, get it before I decide to keep it.

- Rodenstock 55mm Apo-Grandagon f/4.5 | 1.495 euro
This is a truly amazing lens, and the one I will likely really regret selling - again, if you want it, get it before I change my mind and decide to keep it. Super sharp, one of the most amazing lenses in the ultra-wide range. Cosmetically beautiful with just one minor blemish on the rear element. Optically perfect, very sharp to the corners. 163mm image circle covers up to 4x5" with 5/7mm shift. Shutter firing perfectly at all speeds except for 1/500 sec which is 2/3 of a stop slow.

- Schneider 80mm Super-Symmar XL-105 f/4.5 ASPH MC | 1.895 euro
One of the legendary LF lenses, together with its longer sibling (next in this list). Very hard to find. Cosmetically beautiful. Optically great, super sharp, large image circle of 211mm covering 4x5" with plenty of movements and up to 5x7". Shutter firing perfectly at all speeds except for 1/250 and 1/500 sec which are 2/3 of a stop slow.

- Schneider 110mm Super-Symmar XL-105 f/5.6 ASPH MC | 1.995 euro
The second of the Super-Symmar legendary lenses for sale today. Very hard to find, especially in these conditions. Cosmetically beautiful. Optically amazing, even better than the 80mm, huge image circle of 288mm covering up to 5x7" with movements to spare. Shutter firing perfectly at all speeds except for 1/250 which is 2/3 of a stop slow. My testing equipment does not have a 1/400 sec option, only 1/500, but it's fair to assume that it will possibly be slow at 1/400 as well.

- Schneider 150mm Apo-Symmar f/5.6 MC | 700 euro
One of the best 150mm out there! Cosmetically beautiful. Optically amazing, in perfect conditions, super sharp, large image circle of 220mm covering 4x5" with plenty of movements and up to 5x7". Shutter firing perfectly at all speeds except for 1/250 and 1/500 sec which are 1/3 and 2/3 of a stop slow.

- Nikon Nikkor-W 210 mm f/5.6 | 450 euro
A great long normal / moderate tele for 4x5", I just don't use the long range enough to keep it and carry it with me. Cosmetically beautiful. Optically amazing, in perfect conditions, super sharp, huge image circle of 293mm covering up to 5x7" with quite a bit of movements. Shutter firing perfectly at all speeds up to 1/125 (1/3 slow) and 1/250 (2/3 of a stop slow). Again, my testing equipment does not have a 1/400 sec option, only 1/500, but it's fair to assume that it will possibly be slow at 1/400 as well.

Moving to the camera:

- Chamonix 4x5" | SOLD

- Toyo VX125 | 1.995 euro
A truly beautiful piece of machinery, with all the movements you will ever need for 4x56" photography. In as perfect conditions cosmetically and mechanically as you will ever find one. Ground glass clean. Comes with two extenders and 4 different lens adapters: Linhof and 110mm Toyo View, plus two more Linhof third-party ones.

Film adapters:

- ShenHao multi-format adapter (6x4.5, 6x6, 6x9, 6x12) | 450 euro
I got it to see if I preferred the multi-format against my three Horsemans - I LOVED the flexibility of the ShenHao but muscle memory prevailed and I decided to keep the Horseman. This is Graflok compatible. My loss is your gain here, the adapter is practically NEW.

- Lomography Instant Film Adapter | 150 euro
Brand new in box. I got two by mistake, so one has to go.

That's it! I attached one photo per item, not to clog the server - photos of everything available on demand, or let me know if you are OK with me uploading about 100 photos (grouped in one post per item) here.

Best regards,

Vieri

Are they usable on a Graflex system?
Thank you.

This is Graflok compatible, and I am not sure whether your Graflex system will support it. Just added the Graflok info in the original post.

Wait a minute, this isn't a huge large format sale. where is the 20x24, the 16x20 or even 11x14. The huge brass beasts and massive hunks of glass are all missing in action.

This is a tiny (4x5) large format sale!😀

😂 Let's say it's a huge sale of tiny large format gear, then!

You could always change "HUGE" to read as "EXTENSIVE" instead

Hey Matt,

I just changed it to "HUGE sale of Large Format gear", there should now be no doubt that what is huge is the sale and not the large format being sold 😅

Just letting you know that your 110XL will just cover 8x10. Fantastic lens!

Hey Andrew,

thanks for that! It is truly an amazing lens on 4x5", but on specs I wouldn't have thought its 288mm image circle would cover 8x10"... conservative numbers on Schneider's part, perhaps?

Best,

Vieri

Well, thanks Andy! If the 110xl really covers 8x10 I will concede!🤐
