Hubris or cleaver marketing?

I love it nice idea in this selfobsessed world. Cartes de Visited 2.0 just instead of the photograph a 3 figures. Also I've seen his portofolio it isneither better nor worse than that of 100 of other lifestyle and travel photographers. But at least he knows how to market himself.

Brilliant. Tacky and vain, but brilliant.

Somebody looking to hire him for whatever it is that he does (I don't really care) will think, "What about that guy who made the cheesy little dolls of himself?"

That's the whole point of marketing.

It's also hard for anybody else to do the same without looking like a copycat.

I think his time is better spent shooting or perfecting art.

Not if he wants to stay in business.

We're talking about it, aren't we?

Wonderful, how mad can it get?

And I thought this was going to be about "Leave it to Beaver"

As regional convener for PA (Pedants Anonymous) I could hardly resist

PE, there is such scope for jokes in very bad taste indeed now ... Must ... Resist ...

Has there been a portrayal of any genuine non self serving character with a Van Dyke beard and moustache since "d'artagnan"

I wonder if any job seekers gets an idea and sends his own action figures with resume??

For advertisement, it's quite clever. I love it.

This must be why 3D-printing was invented? (though these particular figures weren't made in that way). I liked the "Warning: This is not the actual photographer" label. It looks as though the rangefinder camera on the artwork is not used in the model though - so just a slight slip in continuity there!

His time is best spent trying to be noticed in a competitive field where quality of output doesn't do much to differentiate the top 10-20%. Some potential clients will find it tacky, but when his chance of being hired for a particular job is already small, that's a small price to pay for being memorable.
