Oh, and so those looking don't get confused.

The auction is for a 5"x2000' roll. Quite the quantity.

I'd love to see someone here get it and cut it for resale at a good price. It's quite a load of Panatomic X. Always did want to try it.

S'what I've heard. Also, after I posted this, someone said that this guy tends to sell stuff that's fogged or otherwise unusable. I've never bought from him before so I can't comment on that. For $800 it better be good film.

I bought some of the cut down ariel Panatomic-X but have not had a chance to use it yet. It is an EXTREMELY thin emulsion. I'll probably shoot some soon, assuming the weather cooperates. If so, I will post some scans of the negs so you all can see.

This stuff is great film. I got a 1000' roll from a kind gentleman on this site that I've been cutting down to 4x5 and 5x7. I've been developing in D-76 and have been very pleased with my latest results. The roll would make a great complement to a 5x12 camera. :D

As tjaded says, the 2.5 mil base is very thin. It tends to have shape memory, as the curl always returns after drying the developed negatives. I've found that the few mil difference between this and standard sheet films has not noticeably affected focus. The base is tough as nails and doesn't tear.

The only downside with this film is cutting it down to size and keeping track of which is the emulsion side. The results are well worth the trouble.

Is it the same as the emulsion that was sold in 35mm rolls, etc.?

I have 1 roll remaining; I LOVE the stuff

hi there

i haven't bought the pan-x aero film from ed ( mrfoto1 ) but i have bought some of the other bulk 9 1/2 inch wide film he sells ( plus-x aero film ). these films aren't exactly the same as the consumer pan-x and plus x films, they have a higher red sensitivity which helped when photographing from a plane - as he says "cuts through the haze" ....

he used to cut the film down on request, but doesn't do that anymore

jim galli posted this a while back if you are interested -
it is all about cutting wide films down to size ...
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

I'd love to if I had the spare payment laying around...

I do believe this guy's been trying to sell it for quite some time now. Seems like I remember that exact listing from a few months back.
