HP5 Plus is ON SALE at Adorama.
2 packs for $5.00!!

I don't benefit anything from this. I thought someone here might.

Wow... for even less!

why oh why not BnH, with shipping costs freestyle and adorama dont save me nearly as much money, and HP5 has become my main film

I like HP5 fine, but this is "ho hum" news to me. I bought a 100' roll of the Arista rebranded "Arista Premium" that's actually Tri-X before the price increase for $34.99 making it slightly cheaper than this. Between the two I prefer Tri-X in 35mm mainly because I get more speed out of it in Diafine and that makes that combination my standard for low light in 35mm when "pushed to the limits" TMZ isn't called for.

I'd love to get a great sale price on HP5 in 120 and/or 4x5. But 35mm, yawn.

I find the only time I shoot 35mm B&W anymore is in low light anyway. Other times, I shoot 120 6x6 when I want to shoot fairly quickly and handheld, or 4x5 if I can take my time and use a tripod.

Legacy Pro = Tri-X?

Sorry, wrong film. Legacy Pro is Fuji (at least it's made in Japan.)

What I bought and what I meant to say was the "Arista Premium." It's made in the USA so that pretty much says the 100 is Plus X and the 400 Tri-X (doubtful it would be TMX and TMY, but I'll find out when I put it through Diafine.)

It's not short dated. A 100' roll is now $45 so that makes a 36 exposure roll $2.50 not counting the cartridges and your effort. For that price, if I liked HP5 plus as well, I'd buy the on sale HP5 plus. But I bought my Arista Premium before the price increase for a lot less. Don't recall now but I'll go check.

EDIT: Checked and I paid $34.99 for it. Edited previous post.

Great news for a great film...Ilford not only makes a tremendous product but let's face it - they're here for us.

Different films boil down to personal taste and that's OK. But this is good news to hear.

I'm pretty sure Legacy Pro is Fuji Acros. Just developed some yesterday in HC-110 and it sure resembles Acros to me.

Well said!

Thanks for the heads-up. I use Arista EDU Ultra 120 asa 400 for about $2.59 per roll. Not bad film.

Actually I quite agree, and probably shouldn't have said anything. It was mostly frustration that it's only 35mm that's on sale. If they had a cut rate deal on 120 and 4x5 I'd be stocking the freezer.

I'm pretty sure it is too. Just confused my Arista brands.

It's pretty easy to tell the actual manufacturer since they list the country of origin. As far as I know, only Kodak makes film in the US and only Fuji in Japan, only Foma in the Czech republic and Efke in Croatia. (As far as I know they aren't rebranding Efke but it could happen.)

Isn't Maco/Rollei rebranding Efke film too?

I'm just trying to figure out what else do I need from Freestyle before finalizing my order, since I'm in AZ, ground shipping is 2 day shipping.

Comes out to 2.295 per roll, just a bit more than Arista, cheaper than anything from Kodak, Fuji, Foma, and other Ilford films.
