HP5+ in FX-1

I tried to find out the developing time for HP5+ in FX-1 via Massive Dev Chart. Though I clicked on FX-1 under developers I was shown the data for FX-19. Does anybody know the EI and developing data for this combo?

I don't, and you may have to test, but if there is a time for Tri-X, it is likely a good starting point. A perusal of broadly similar developers, and how their HP5 times differ from their Tri-X times, will give you a good idea of how to tweak the time for your first experiments.

Geoffrey Crawley never published any development times for 400 ISO films in FX-1 or FX-2,possibly because he was writing for professional photographers who might get unexpected grain.
It should be possible to calculate a time from these recommendations in BJP annual 1994:
For 120 film in FX-1 20C : PanF 14 min, FP4+ 14 min.

i use it 20min minimal agitation (first 30sek, then once every 5min). got pretty good results most times with hp5 and delta100. although, iirc, some of the last negs came out a little thin, so my plan was to up the agitation or time a little the next time.

I`m making tests with Fomapan 100 (135), and 18,5 min with the other minute makes too dense negatives, but 18 min 20C with agitating with the third minute interval (15seconds initial, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15m) looks quite good at EI160(as fomapan 100 better looks ot EI 80 than 100, even with R09/rodinal/D76).

Fx-1 was intend to max acutance, but as they say, better with slow/medium speed films than with fast ones.

luxikon, you should make a film speed test. hp5+ should work good with EI 640/800.

and remember - do not overagitate with fx-1!
