Hp5, EI1600 and D76

Howdy,

I thought I would burn a roll of HP5 at EI1600 and develop in D76, just to see what I get. I noticed on the Massive Dev Chart processing times of Stock - 14mins and 1:1 - 18mins.

With these dev times and dilutions, what differences am I going to get? Will one result in finer grain (not that I want finer grain, I am just curious).....or should I burn two rolls and see what I get?

The stock solution should cause less graininess. However, I am not sure if the difference would be worth saving four minutes and using twice as much developer, especially with a two stop push.

How will stock D76 cause lower grain?

Well, I have just made my first prints from HP5 Pushed to EI1600 and processed in D76 and it rocks!

This combination right from the massive film dev chart rocks for me too. Especially for indoor metallic surfaces.
Must admit I never experimented either way though, because I like it from the start.

here's a (sorry red toned) picture from that combination, made with a Rolleiflex T (people seem not to be bothered by a cute Rollei).
I like the type of grain, more important to me than size. But yes, grain... Like they say, it is supposed to be there.
