HOYA 28mm 1:2,8 for Olympus?

The same question - could it be an OK lense?
If I could find any info on the net, I didn't ask
I just got the Olympus OM, now trying to get some extra lenses. Got only the 50mm now.

I have a Hoya 135mm f2.8 for my OM-2n and it is an outstanding lens. If the one you're looking at is anywhere near the quality of the one I have I'd grab it fast.

Hoya-branded lenses were sold from the late 1970s for a relative brief period, the actual construction was done by Tokina, which was (and still is) the photographic lens division of the company comprising of Tokina, Hoya and Kenko. They were not inexpensive lenses at the time and quite highly regarded.

Thanks. Well, I can't judge the quality since I found the lense on ebay. (If two copys of the same lense can be different quality)

I just ordered a Hoya HMC 70-150mm f/3.8 one touch lens in Pentax screw mount. I was not able to find any info on Hoya camera lenses, only eyeglass lenses, but decided to take a chance. I am relieved to hear that Hoya sold some good lenses in the 1970's.

The 28mm f2.8 Hoya lens is brilliant, very sharp and contrasty, however don't let the sun within 180° of the film plane as the flare is horrific. Worst I've ever seen with any lens and that includes a Sigma 24mm Wide angle The magazines gave the lenses great reviews (as they were taking advertising revenue), the public voted with their feet and the brand was up graded & relauunched as Kiron.

Can you point me to the sources saying that? Kiron lenses were made by the company Kino Precision, and it was active before the Hoya lens line was introduced.
