Hi everyone, I'm Mike from Hamilton, Ontario. I've been lurking for a while, thought I'd make my presence known. Pleased to see familiar faces from other forums, and some interesting threads.
I've always been an RF guy, having grown up with my late dad's M3.....never could get the hang of SLR's. Right now I have a bit more gear than talent (well, actually a LOT more gear than talent); couple of M3's, an M6, a 35mm bugeyed summaron, 35mm bugeyed 'cron, 35mm V3 'cron, 50mm DR 'cron, 50mm collapsible Elmar, 50mm Summarit, 90mm 'cron, 90mm elmar, 135mm Elmar, 135mm Hektor, plus Visoflexes etc. etc. Moslty the result of constantly upgrading and unable to part with anything.
In the last year I started up a darkroom, developing my own films and doing some wet printing on a Saunders enlarger when time allows, otherwise scanning with a KM Scan Dual IV.
I think I've been improving (slowly), and that's the main reason I'm here. I've found that you can learn more from other more experienced members far more quickly than you can taking photo101 or self teaching.
Nothing compares to the satisfaction of taking your film photo from start to finish, and getting good results only increases the desire to improve and keep at it. All the more reason that film users should continue to work together via forums like APUG to help keep film alive forever.
Regards,
Mike (dadsm3)

Hi Mike, welcome from Hawaii. I made my first trip to Ontario in May, Toronto, for the 1st APUG conference. Looking at being back there again next year, seemed like a great city, full of great people (like my buddy, Uncle Bill).

Welcome, from the Left Coast.

Actually, the enjoyment we get from photography is the biggest thing we share across this country (other than our opinion of Toronto, of course).

Hope the Tiger Cats start improving soon!

Mike,

As Andy K. says, pull up a chair. We've been waiting for you. Nice to see you join us old filmsters (regardless of format).

Heading into a wintertime - it's good to see some old friends gathering - are you gonna' post that outsized salmon in your (much smaller here) avatar? :D
