How's this for lens flare?

This was shot with a foggy/hazy Canon LTM 50/1.8 that I no longer use. I've had it cleaned (as much it could be cleaned) but it fogged up again a few months later. I shot into the sun on other frames on the same film, but only with this lens did it give this Close Encounters of the Third Kind effect.

Unless something really happened that day

Like I said before on another post: film cameras with old lenses are the best for capturing ghost images.

Use a polarizer to see if you can improve the flare.
