Hi Folks, like you I have been sucked in by the allure of the Ilex speedcomputer and electronic shutter combo - but I couldn't find wiring data anywhere on the web, so I had to figure this out through trial and error!! I present my findings...

Dead Link Removed

Now all I need is a use for the thing, or a mobile 110VAC supply...

Cheerio, Marc

A 12v-110/60 inverter and a 12v battery pack will do you. Radio Shack or an auto parts store.

But do check the shutter's speeds. A couple of years ago I bought an oscilloscope camera with an Ilex #3 Electronic much like yours but with a marked high speed of 1/125. The equivalent of your Speed Computer's internals are hung all over the camera's interior and I haven't yet got around to cutting metal so that I can rearrange them more compactly. Even so, my junk functions but the shutter speeds are all very very much slower than nominal.

Good luck, have fun,

Dan

HMMM Wondering if 3 and 5 then bring a feed closure back for the flash sync contacts I see on the side of the 'box'.

Or even easier, work out what DC voltage the unit runs at and run it directly from a battery pack. No point inverting 12v up to 110v only to have the internal transformer and rectifier convert it back to 12v again!

EDIT: More likely 24v.

Steve.

Ancient thread but...

Any chance of getting this wiring diagram??

Thank you, Mark!!

Found it! My hoarding even extends to ancient computer files...

Marc!

Marc / Dan... Thank you both!!
