Hi all. I am new to Hasselblad and now own a 500CM. I have read that the film advance and tension in the shutter should be cocked when not in use or when changing a lens. I cannot find again this information and cannot find it in any other documentation. I tend to think that it would be the other way around: that the shutter should not be cocked (in a ready state to release). Does anyone know what is the correct way to store the camera and whether it matters when changing a lens?
The body and shutter must always be cocked on the 500-series Hasselblads.
The lens can only be removed/mounted when both it and the body are cocked. It's impossible to move the lens from its mounted position if it's not cocked.
Also, when mounting/dismounting a lens, keep your finger AWAY from the shutter release button. Accidentally releasing the shutter during lens change can cause a jam that's very difficult to clear.
