I would like to here the techniques used to shoot fireflies on film. Digitally, many people take several exposures and stack them in photoshop. Is it possible to get a nice outcome in one take on film?

Thanks,

Mike

Camera on tripod, open the lens ("B" with a locking cable release), cover the lens and make multiple exposures by quickly uncovering and covering the lens with something dark.

Yes, it is. Wide angle lens - with the most closed aperture - (inverted) on extension tubes, medium/high speed film, continuos white light, and move the focusing ring ...

Tripod at dusk and fast film...

Simple and smart. I would have just kept clicking the shutter and messing everything up.

My shot was one exposure, there were just a bunch of them flying around.
