How to ? Schlieren + Edgerton, bubble shock wave interaction, physics for design art

Is there anyone who knows how to build edgerton style camera and how to build an extreme successfull , all sharp , very colorful , full frame , large area schlieren photographs with film. What are the reasons for good and bad of it .I found many websites and videos with digital camera setup gives very poor results.I found extreme fast schlieren photography and easy experiment setup would give me endless amounts of information.


Long for Short : I am researching best practices at product design which uses intense mathematics and physics . I found that at the first days of modernism , sculptors at paris was visiting Paris University and copying the mathematical sculptures which were not intented for art.

I spent 3 years on computer to find the principles of best products and always found they used military reports and math physics literature.

For example : Best light lamp practice of sweden originates from military reports which exemply bubble shock interactions . There are million pages of research. They used that and sell millions of lamps.

You would ask me to do the same but I want to design many things with above setup. And that setup will end in a small leaflet and end many university libraries.

Edgerton's photographs were usually done in a darkened room, the camera's shutter was opened prior to the event, then the capture was made using his powerful strobes which were triggered in some way by the apparatus.
I'm not sure how applicable any of that is to capturing schlieren though.

Thank you Tarniu and bdial,

I squezed my mind and hoped above two are compatible , may be not. Frankly , I am not interested in hundred percent correct results , even hundred percent wrong could be work for me. I am reading lots of modelling algorithms but I am after the end result and its geometric nature.
I have no knowledge whether end result shapes could be calculated without endless computer hours but but I think it might be.
I will research more and if anyone can contribute , I will be much glad.
