Why do you need the back open?
I stole this technique from C220 service manual in a recent post here in APUG:
I want to put a focusing screen in the film path and focus at closest (3.5 feet?) with a loupe.
Then I plan to add thin washers under WLF screws until I see sharp image in WLF screen.
During this procedure I might switch to infinity calibration.
Since I'm very much not a handyman I expect many repeated and failed attempts.
That's why I want to have permanent access to both focusing screens.
