I'm trying to free the two-part hood on my 500MM CF Hasselblad lens to insert a drop-in filter. Seems to be frozen solid. What to do?

Rubber band and/or pliers around one of the pieces for grip, then twisting the other?

Be careful you're not like me who tries to turn it the wrong way to loosen it after having an extra beer the night before.

350mm and 40mm use the same darn aluminum nonsense. I doubt Zeiss had anything to do with these accessories. I put Vaseline on the threads to prevent sticking, I ended up selling the 40mm (FLE) too heavy and the goofy accessories. Probably an effort to contain cost.

A rubber strap used like a strap wrench is the only thing I can think of.

This was a modern screw up, I have a 1973 Super Wide C, uses a beautiful lens hood that also holds series VIII filters, brass, threads in beautifully as do 1940s era Kodak series VIII brass retaining rings.
