A common problem with many digital cams is a hard to feel shutter release button. Some Fuji and Leica used the old school shutter release buttons. You could screw in a soft release button and problem was solved. (After you Loctited it in or it fell out.) Such a release is very useful if you 'palm' your cam for candid work.

But many digital cams just have a flat button. If that is the case you can glue on an extension. I found some synthetic cabochon turquoise that work great. I don't care so much that it is blue or synthetic turquoise, anything that works is fine by me. But this is what was available to me.

If you are a landscaper then it probably does not matter to you. But for street shooting, esp from the hip, an easy to feel and release shutter button is a must. One of the worst buttons ever designed was on the old Pentax K-01. You have to wonder who designs this stuff.

Without specialized shutter release buttons like this I could never shoot the candid's I do.
