Guess what guys. The detergent for dish washing machines has quite a bit of chlorine bleach in it. How else do you think it gets your dishes so squeaky clean. It's not just the hot water and agitation.

This is true, but you don't have to put in any detergent to use the dishwasher to clean trays, etc.

One point though, never, never, never try to use regular (hand washing type) dish detergent in a dishwasher - the foam will come right through the seals!

Cleaning Boston Round Bottles

I have a similar question: I just picket up a bunch of one-gallon brown bottles that were used to store developer, I think, as that was how they were labeled. I'd like to get the stains out because I want to be sure that my fresh developer isn't picking up anything that will change my results or so that I can use them for something else. The bottles are too big and the necks too small to clean with a brush. If acids work well, what about bases? I've got a bunch of lye about that I could use.
