I've found a nice hasselblad lens for a nice price but since it's still a lot of money I would like to give it a proper check.
Since I once bought a lens with a damaged shutter leave and once damaged the coating of a nikor by heavy cleaning myselves I am a bit curious on how to check for the status of the coating. And are there other things to look for?
After this look at the both the front and back elements with the light coming at a 45 degree angle so you can see the color of the coating. This way you can see any imperfections in the coating. You should see an even color over the entire element if everything is OK.
Look for any lubricant on the aperture diaphram blades.
I didn't buy the lens, it wasn't the lens that had it's trouble but the owner...
Heck it might be a good thing, it's hard to stay sane when it comes to a hasselblad lens I could much better use a much cheaper nikkor but aklways go for beauty instead of brains...
