How to attach dark cloth to Cambo SC2?

I just got an sc2 and I can’t figure out how to attach the dark cloth.

My calumet c40x has nice clips that are very convenient.

This new camera doesn’t seem to have anything like that.

I’ve just been draping it over the rear standard but it seems like there has to be a better way that I haven’t thought of yet.

I never had a problem with other cameras doing that, but if that bothers you, sew on weights on one end to keep it from slipping off or use Velco.

Ah so I’m just used to my calumet. It just feels a bit uncomfortable that there’s no positive attachment. I will get used to it.

I have a dark cloth with velcro, on most of my cameras, I jst throw it over the bellows and connect the two sides of velcro underneath the bellows. If you have something like the black jacket dark cloth, that won't work so you stretch the elastic over the rear frame.

First time at all I read that a camera got means to fasten a darkcloth.

I’ve never seen attachment clips either.

I have seen that some Plaubel cameras have a metal wire frame to hold up the dark cloth so it doesn’t fall down and obscure the ground glass. I thought that was a cool idea. Another cool one is the Sinar bag bellows can have a loupe installed, then attached to the rear standard so you can operate it without a dark cloth.

I love how there are so many interesting ideas in the LF world that are spread out among all the different manufacturers.

One could aways use carpet tacks.

what kind of dark cloth do you use? do you have a black jacket? they have elastic hole to put around back of camera. if your camera does not have clips maybe a person on eBay or Etsy has made one for you to buy? or you make one with thick elastic and big paper clips. and you sell on eBay and Etsy.

I have used a cloths pin to hold the dark cloth ends together under the bellows in front of the rear standards in windy conditions. Some sort of clips should be regular Kit.

You need a big enough dark cloth to throw over the camera and over you. No clips or other whiz bang high tech stuff.

I have one of those, I always thought that was what the holes on top were for.

I use an old black windbreaker. Right now I’m draping it over the rear standard and using the zipper to cinch it into place.

I was wondering about those holes. You wouldn’t happen to be able to explain how they function would you?

I wish I could find a manual for the sc but it seems to be lost to time.

I haved not yet seen these holes, but there must be two holes at the top of the rear standard. Combo offered a darkcloth "holder" which just is a plain, U-shaped steel wire frame, seemingly to be mounted 45° upwards by means of the 45° downwards bent ends of that frame.

The frame plugs in vertically and gravity keeps it there. I thought I posted a picture.

I used to use a 3x3 foot piece of B&J Darkroom Cloth which was rubberized on one side and lightproof, long gone from the market. Now I have a genuine Calumet that is fading year by year.

If the cloth is long enough to completely go around the camera back, a binder clip or clothes pin should work fine. Otherwise Velcro.

There are two holes on top of each standard. I suspect something very similar to what you describe as what might go there. I have yet to see anything purposeful for those holes.

Look at the photo in post #14. There you see that U-shaped wire frame I described.

It’s just too easy. Some prefer complications and gadgets.
