Hi guys,
First post here. I got interested in alt processes about six months ago, and decided to buy my first PT/PD kit from LabOldTech. Im not planning on using it until March tho, i still have to build Uv exposure box and buy few things. Hence Mmy question: How should i store my chemistry? I havent opened any little bottle with ferric oxalate, platinum or palladium yet. I guess they have to be in space without access to uv light, but should i put it in freezer or room temperature wil be ok?

In a dark cupboard is fine, no need to freeze. I keep all my chems in a cupboard in my DR, constant temp of 65f unless I turn on the heat.

In fact, better not freeze, as the chemistry may crystallize out. 9 times out of 10 you can get it dissolved again by warming the bottles back up and shaking a bit, but it's kind of frustrating (expensively so) if that somehow fails with Pt or Pd solutions....

how bout putting it in fridge? will it affect pt,pd or ferric oxalate salts?

There's no need and only the risk of crystallization. As said, it probably won't hurt, but why bother? Your chemicals will store virtually indefinitely right at room temperature in a dark cupboard.

Welcome to Photrio, btw

Store at room temp in a draw or other dark(ish) place. Don't freeze. The FO will only last about 6 months, but the metals are good forever. I've had platinum solution crystallize out a bit during storage, but warming it up and shaking will usually get everything back into solution.

I know that FO last up to 8 months, but is it since i purchased one, or from the moment i open up the little bottle with it?

IMO, 8 months is pushing it a bit. Since I mix it from scratch, I start my 6-month clock from the day it's mixed. Bad FO will cause you much headache and it's so inexpensive why mess around?
