Mink oil oversoftens the leather even after a single application. I would not recommend it save for when you first start treating hardened vintage gear.

Not using it on vintage gear, but rather on replacable camera straps of which I have 3 from Gordie made of leather. Theyre ok for light gear, for now.
Other than that, all my other straps are made of more practical materials.

While my Leica II was being serviced, I soaked the case and strap in Neatsfoot.
