How much would you pay for a goose? 600se with 3 lenses and Mamiya 120 back

Looking for help in regards to price for a 600se with 120 6x7 back and three lenses in good condition. What would you pay? Or what have you seen them sell for recently?

ebay sold listings, KEH, Adorama used dept, B+H used dept, Used Photo Pros would be your friends right now.

Not to mention that what 3 lenses will greatly determine value.

Thanks, that gave me a couple of extra reference points to check... Unfortunately there aren't any or many listings... Why is the Polaroid more expensive than the mamiya ?

Sounds strange if that actually is the case. A 600se is a just limited version of the Mamiya Universal with a different lens mount. There are many exiting lenses available for the Universal, such as 50mm, 65mm, 100 2.8, etc, that you can't get for the 600se.

It's true Trond! You can pick up a Mamiya press with lens for about $200 on eBay. I'm thinking its due to rarity and collectors who have driven up price... As you said, the Mamiya system has more lenses. Neither system seems comparable as a MF user to Hasselblad or the other Mamiya systems either.

the universal is the only one to make full size polaroid (fuji) pack 100 pictures, like the 600se. a press wouldn't accept a polaroid back and neither a rb/rz or a hasselblad would cover the surface of a polaroid picture.

I was offered a 600SE with 3 lenses (including wide with external diopter), 2 x polaroid back, 6X9 back, format masks, polaroid temperature plates, in an aluminium case with several other trimmings. All of it was in absolute mint condition. The price here was $1000, but this is Switzerland and people tend to enjoy over-paying for things.

It was beautiful and it was in absolutely perfect condition. I have seen much cheaper packages but they mostly look like they've been dragged through the bushes backwards.

I would say, if it's in

*excellent* condition - body, all lenses, external diopter and backs - 1000+
*slightly battered* - body, all lenses, external diopter and backs - 800+
*used and abused* - body, all lenses, external diopter and backs - 600+

I am not sure what the availability of polaroid is. But the normal lens for the 600e is the 127, normal for 6X7 is 90 and 100 for 6X9, so the only wide for the 600e is more like a normal lens. As lens are interchangeable with the Press or Universal, unless you are going to shoot instant film I would get a Press or Universal.

That because the old polaroid pack was something like 3 1/4 by 4 1/4, don't recall the exact format size, so the 127 is normal, a 75mm is about the same as a 28mm. Normal for 6X7 is 90mm so 75mm is just about like a 35mm lens for 35mm film. If you plan on shooting 120 either 6X7 or 6X9 get a Press or Universal. I have a Universal with the 65mm and 55 for wides, both are sharp with good contrast, even wide open sharp corner to corner, down side is the lens are somewhat slow, the 65mm is a 6.3.

Ahh that makes sense PDH. Cool bit of info Yeah I'm leaning towards a universal instead. The polaroid is an ok deal but not great and for me the polaroid part is too expensive to get into... I can go without a couple of extra lenses and save half my dough I think.

A 100mm either in 2.8 or 3.5 is normal for the Universal, the viewfinder had frames for the 100 150 and 250, the 65 and 55 need an separate viewfinders. The 65, and 150 are common, the 55 harder to find. The 250 came in a uncoupled and coupled version, both are somewhat rare the coupled is both rare and expensive. Another option is the multi back, it will change from a 6X9 to a 6.45 to a 6X6 with a set of masks.

I did not, but I really enjoyed using it and I fully intend to make another offer. It's fun to use and the process is like large format but with a 120 back on, you have the luxury or just winding on. The back I had could do 6x45, 6x6 adn 6x9 as it has insert masks and a switch on the back.

It also forgiving, if you leave the lens cap on, simple cock the shutter again and shoot. The lenses were deadly sharp. They were made for Polaroid by Mamiya (well the whole 600SE was ). It's a really fun piece of kit, simple and you only need to care for the lenses, the rest of just a box.

Here are some examples of the 6X9, which by the way with the 75mm lens is perfect.

Those are great shots! Everything seems to fill the frame in perfect ratio Its the 6x7 back on the one Im that is holding me back at the moment, if it was 6x9 I would have bought it already. I feel 6x7 is a bit close to my hasselblad...

Another thing is it also seems to be a bit overpriced compared to what sells on eBay right now... Theres a few on there now for 500usd that proobably wont sell but there is also a mint goose around 250usd with lots of bids and some days to go...
