Around $100.

That would, in fact, be a very nice price for this lens. It is a great one! It is also not the most common lens in the system (the retracting 100mm f/3.5 is, and the 150mm is also common), so it may take a while to find one.

$100? Really nice 100/3.5s go for $100! The 100/2.8 is one of the three great lenses you buy into this system to get to.

Nothing recent on ebay, except a lens + body where the 0 seller never says it's a 2.8.

I'd think AT LEAST $150 for a Seikosha shutter, maybe $200 for a Seiko. (Personally I prefer the Seikosha because it's much easier to use the on-shutter trigger, but the Seiko is newer and had parts support for a lot longer.)

But those are just guesses from someone who hasn't shopped for Universal gear in a couple of years. Just wait for one to come up on ebay and see what it goes for.

Just going off what mine sold for about 6 months ago. I believe it sold for $120 on the auction site.

The 100mm 2.8 (and the 50mm) is still a sought-after lens for the Press system; I'd be surprised if you could find one (in good condition, with the lens hood) for less than $300. I have one and it's a great lens. If I saw another one for sale for only $100 I'd scoop it up on general principles!

Thanks for all the replys. I've decided against trading or selling my refurbished Polaroid 110a/b and will start saving for this lens. So, now I'll run color through the Mamiya and B&W through the Polaroid.....
It's all good.......
Thanks again,
John

Actually this lens on eWay will range from $180 (really cheap) to $400, more in the $300's, I've been looking for one for a long time and those are the prices I've found. They are hard to get and to see

If you're looking to get one cheap, look for kit auctions where the seller doesn't understand he has a 2.8 rather than a 3.5. It's pretty easy to see the larger front element in even a crummy picture. But of course this sort naivete means you won't get reliable condition info, and fake naivete as a means of unloading junk is far from unheard-of.

And, FWIW, if anybody has a 100/2.8 with bad glass or shutter, let me know, I've got one where some idiot epoxied (rather than the standard and reversible nail polish) the adjuster screw, and the "professional" repair failed in such a way as to destroy the brass rim that drives the rangefinder.
