A lot of millenials grew up at the cusp of the CD era. My parents certainly still had tons of records; it's just what I grew up with and of course I like them because they remind me of the feeling of childhood marvel when I watched my dad put on a record. Cassettes were still a relevant medium for non-mainstream labels in the early 2000s because for a while they were still cheaper to make and distribute than CDs. All underground rap music that I listened to came on tape first and then, maybe, on CD.

As far as Gen-Z goes: why not just let people enjoy things? I really like old tube radios even though they were long obsolete when I was a kid. What's the harm? People of all ages like classic cars, rarely does anyone questions if that appreciation is "genuine" or "authentic"; why should it be different for film cameras or hi-fi equipment?

It is probably important to point out that that is the name of the band - not the slightly shorter name of the publication, or the inspirational line from a Bob Dylan song .

Ha! Didn't notice I made that mistake!

(And I hate that band...)
