I have been using 777 for over a month now. Great results. I bought a 4 galloon pack and mixed up the first galloon dividing into working solution and replenisher. The 1/2 galloon replenisher is nearly gone so I will have to mix up a new batch soon (~20 rolls of 35mm). I am thinking about stocking up and buy more of the stuff. How long would the unmixed powder last?

Thanks.

Just a guess.... about forever.

You might ask BPI... they know what's in it

I've kept the powders for up to 2 years and they worked great when I subsequently mixed them. The last two gallons I got were from my buddy in Louisville and consisted of 1 bag of white powders (A and B) with the familiar red label and 1 bag of something labelled Panthermic 777 Replenisher with a blue label instead of red and the A bag (i.e. the small one) of this set contained a powder that looked like dirt. This replenisher bag is how the 777 developer (red label) used to look when I first started using it 3 years ago but lately the powders in the developer bags have been all white. I'm hopelessly confused now.

I think I'll just mix up the Replenisher and use it as I've been using it; i.e., I dump half of my working gallon every six months and fill the jug back up with freshly mixed 777. Then I use the other half gallon of fresh as replenisher.

Anyway, the powders keep for a long, long time.

Their published replenishment schedule is way overkill. I develop two 8x10s in a tray containing a full gallon. You want to develop with as much solution as possible with this stuff. I add about 1/2 ounce of replenisher for every sheet, but I only do it after 8-10 sheets. 1 roll of 35mm is roughly equivalent to an 8x10 sheet so 1/2 gallon, or 64 ounces of replenisher should last you at least 100 rolls of 35mm film.

Well, for 35mm developed in a Jobo tank, their replenishing schedule is right on money. In other words, it takes ~40 to 45 ml. for each roll of film that got developed if I want to re-top off the working solution!
