Cheers Andy! Great to see this end to end. I've done most of this up to including contact orienting a wedge and curve plotting. I've never seen the family of curves and plots after that before. Can you recommend a source for reading up on that side of things?

A great resource is Phil Davis' Beyond The Zone System, 3rd edition.
 
Why not just determine the LER from a sensitometric paper test and then calculate the necessary CI to match? It's straight forward and less prone to testing error and misinterpretations.

I've worked this way for decades. It gives me a ton of information, and gets me to where I want to be, fast, without wasting time and materials.
