How do you store your cameras (want suggestions on a good set of boxes)

Have since had a small humidifier given to me by a colleague, and the kit now resides in this; climate controlled with no chance of fungus.

.

In a humidifier???? Wouldn't that promote fungus and oxidation?

Did you instead mean to say a dehumidifier?

lol

Is this really an issue about storing lenses without proper circulation?

Depends on your climate. I've never seen any of mine start growing anything, but I live in a near-desert climate (San Diego) and I tend to take stuff out of the bags/plastic drawers fairly regularly and give them some sunshine.

For equipment I want to keep very safe...

Store individually in sealed plastic backs with fresh desiccant packets.
Wrap items individually in soft synthetic cloths or wraps.
Place in styrofoam cooler with top tightly set and a very large desiccant bag inside.

Why? No dust, no humidity, and the ice chest moderates rapid temperature extremes.

I keep gear in poly storage boxes. They have lids with "locking" clamps, but allow air circulation while keeping the contents relatively dust-free. So far no problems. We have a big dehumidifier so the air stays relatively dry.
