Say you come up with a nice little recipe, which is fair unique, and before you release a recipe for it, you'd like a punchy title... how would you come up with a name for it?

I was thinking along the lines of something like:

Athiril's Legendary Blue Thunder of the North.

But I'm not sure..

I think that might be one of the longer names out there!

BTDT

when reading patents, there really isn't a "name" for the recipe, so I make one based on ingredients or claims, and usually end in "fine" or "ol"

from my chart (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

"superfine" 4,363,869

"promisol" 2,757,091
"H&W Control" 3,772,019
"acitol" 5,376,610

where can I find the instructions for "thunderol"?

Athirol.

Athiril's first developer...

Hmm...

AD-1?

So, do you actually have a recipe to go with the naming? Just curious.

Quite a lot of suggestions to think about

I do actually, but there are a few variations I want to try, and something I want to confirm.

no offense but Athol is about the worst name ..for anything
just sound it out and tell me it otherwise
...can't be worse than Aciphex, though

Legendary Blue.. sounds like a crappy amusement park water ride

Athiril sounds pretty good but it also kind of sounds like a disease

OK, here is the end all be all in naming this developer. Ready?

>drum roll please<

Athiril's Legendary Blue Thunder of the North

>Keep on drumming<

Athirol (nickname - Legendary Blue)

My new balance FINALLY arrived today, I'll be keeping this one nice and clean this time (this is my third balance, luckily they're cheap and accurate).

Anyway, just doing a test of it now.

An all-purpose one: Developol

Athol is the actual name of a city in Massachusetts. The home of Starrett, makers of precision measuring equipment. So it is possible to refer to Starrett Athol.

Initial tests look -great- for a very first test  (box speed to 3 or 4 stops over-exposed, they all look basically the same to eye).

The negs look very nice on inspection, now I just got to bleach and fix and see how it turns out later, I'll post some examples later see if theyre any good and how close to reference d* shots they are in colour.

There are no degrees of unique. It's either unique or it isn't.

How about Uniquol?
