Nova Tank Heater

Hi, have just discovered that the heater in my 16x20 Nova tank is broken. Any bright suggestions for a quick fix until I can get a replacement part. I am waiting for the New Zealand agent to get back to me with a price and availability.

Is it just an imersion heater? Or a flow type heater? If it's just an imersion heater look for fish heaters at the pet store.

I have looked for a fish tank heater, they are too big fit into the space where the Nova heater goes unfortunately. Looks like I am going to have to fill it with 20 C water and keep adding warm water to it to keep the temp close to even....

Then how about rigging up a pump and a second tank? Stick the heater in a large holding tank. Have a pump moving water between the two.

Put the whole thing in a water tank/sink filled with water at 20C? On top of a tray heater if you can borrow one?

Good idea! I have a tray warmer and a big tray that the Nova will fit.
