I'd like to end up with a final image on a glass plate. Is there an established method to do that ?
I have a 4x5 plate camera and could put an image up on the TV and photograph that.
I could print a digital negative except that I only have a laser printer and know nothing about the process.
Is there a common commercial service or something that would put it on 35mm film and I could then use an enlarger to expose the plate ?

Any suggestions or experience ?

Steve.

Is the 4x5 plate the final product or is it intermediary? As in, do you want to enlarge or contact print the glass plate?

Taking pictures of the tv is fine. You want to make sure there are no other lights on. The screen pixelization is less significant the more of the screen you get the image on - and the higher the resolution of the screen itself. I have photographed onto 35mm film a digital photo displayed on a 4k laptop monitor - the pixels (which you can see in the grain focuser when the film is in the enlarger) are not visible to my eyes in an 11x14 print. You would definitely not see them in a contact-printed 4x5.

It would be the final product.
Maybe used as a 1:1 contact print but no enlargement.

That's useful information. Thanks.

When I needed to go from digital to something on film, I just made a conveniently-sized inkjet print and photographed that. Worked perfectly fine going from a cellphone pic to 35mm negative and then to 8x10" enlargement. I imagine the TV screen route would work just as well.
